Hosted by OSU

Agenda:

Prof. David Hoelzle (OSU Mechanical Engineering Professor) - Challenges and successes in applying state estimation and control to powder bed fusion.

This talk will provide will provide some background in estimation and control theory and demonstrate how the theory points to challenges in estimation and control in additive manufacturing systems, and how we have been able to have some success despite these challenges.

Vic Castillo (Senior Research Scientist at LLNL) - Using machine learning and computer simulations to generate fast-running predictions of complex system.

This talk will provide information on how we use computer simulation results to train ML models and generate fast-running predictive tools that can run on small GPU-enabled computers.
